Auditor “I gained great knowledge of Océ through my internship, so I feel comfortable to take on each challenge that comes along in my current job.” I come from Iceland and I have therefore a Scandinavian study background. After finishing my Bachelor degree in Business Administration at Reykjavik University and at Copenhagen Business School, I decided to continue with a Master study in The Netherlands. I recently completed Financial Economics at Radboud University Nijmegen. During the Talent-Quest business course I got to know Océ. This is a four-day business course for students to get acquainted with four multinationals in de EEA/EU region. Océ was one of the multinationals at Talent-Quest. After that, I applied for an internship at the DP controlling department at Océ, which I combined with my master thesis. During the internship, I experienced Océ as an open and friendly organization. It is relatively easy to contact people when you need them and they are willing to help out when further explanations are needed. Besides that, I felt in many ways like home here in the Netherlands as the culture here is quite similar to the Scandinavian culture. Therefore, I was very happy to be able to continue my stay here after my internship. I am currently working as an Internal auditor at Océ, so together with my colleagues, I review the organization as a whole. Since there are many Océ Operating Companies distributed around the world, travelling is part of my job. Usually, an auditor within Océ spends around twelve to fourteen weeks abroad. Besides my work at Océ I still go to the university. I am currently doing another master course in Nijmegen, called Accounting and Control, to gain more specific knowledge in this field. Therefore, when I am not travelling I work four days a week and visit the university once a week. In my opinion, Océ is a good employer. Océ gives me a lot of opportunities to grow and develop myself professionally as well as personally. |
